Mr. Alberto Herrera

Sam Rosen Elementary School Principal, Alberto Herrera

Greetings, Sam Rosen Family! I look forward to continuing working to build on our school’s success and growth. If you are returning to Sam Rosen ES, hello! If you are new to the Sam Rosen Family, welcome! We pride ourselves on building a collaborative campus culture focused on preparing our students for the future.

I am married and have three children. In my spare time, I am an avid reader, a car-detailing enthusiast, and I love to cook and grill. Originally, from Eagle Pass, Texas, I moved to the DFW area in 2000. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish. I also have a Master of Education in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington.

This is my twenty-fifth year in education and my thirteenth year as a principal. Before coming to Sam Rosen ES, I taught 6th grade Social Studies in Northside ISD in San Antonio, Cedar Hill ISD, and in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. I also served as an Assistant Principal in Grand Prairie ISD before becoming Principal at Anson Jones ES in Dallas ISD. My passion is pursuing excellence and building leadership capacity in our team as well as instilling a love of learning in all our students. It is my mission to serve the Sam Rosen community and ensure that all of our students get a solid educational foundation. I consider building relationships with our community, communication and collaboration very important. Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns and I will be happy to talk to you. I look forward to working with you once again this school year!

My name is Jennifer Sanchez and I have the honor of joining Sam Rosen next year as the Assistant Principal!

I have been with Fort Worth ISD for 24 years, serving as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. The last 8 years, I had the privilege of serving as principal at Rufino Mendoza down the road. I am returning to the role of AP next year to have more time to spend with my three daughters and grandson after the unexpected loss of my husband in October this past year. I feel blessed to be able to begin this new chapter of my life here at Same Rosen with you and Mr. Herrera, and look forward to getting to know each of you and the community.

Mrs. Cristina Armenta Moxley

Instructional Coach, Department of Teaching and Learning

Hello! My name is Mrs. Moxley, and I am the instructional coach for Sam Rosen this year. I am so excited to be working at this wonderful school that I have called my home for my last 15 years in education. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Tx and am a product of ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø myself. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University and began my educational career as a 4th and 5th grade teacher here at Sam Rosen in 2008. I obtained my Master's Degree from GCU in Curriculum and Instruction to further develop my craft as an educator and I am now the campus instructional coach at the same school I taught at. Thus, I know our community well and love our Northside parents and students!

My top priority is helping teachers in crafting highly effective lessons for students, so that all students have an opportunity to succeed through equitable and rich learning experiences.  I enjoy being a thought partner alongside teachers as they journey through the expected and unexpected trials in education. My ultimate goal is to help in creating an optimal learning environment for students, who are always at the heart of our work, so that they may flourish and achieve in the classroom.
