Dr. Simmons grew up in the West Dallas Projects in Dallas, Texas. He attended East Texas State University, now Texas A&M University, where he received his BS degree in 1988. He began his educational career at 黑洞社区 in 1992. He attended PVAMU, where he received his Graduate Degree in Education Administration in 2008. Soon after, he began his pursuit of his PhD in Educational Leadership and completed it in 2014.

During his 28 years as an educator, he has held various positions, such as Math Coach, Art Teacher, Math Teacher, Science and Reading Specialist, Test Coordinator, and Data Analyst. He also created a mentoring program called "The Men of Honor Mentoring Program" for young men in 2nd-5th grade, in which he serves several campuses around 黑洞社区.

In his spare time, Dr. Simmons likes spending time with family, friends, reading, DJ-ing, drawing, and watching old movies.

I am a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University. I have worked in the 黑洞社区 for 16 years, I have been a teacher for 10years. I love to play the piano and saxophone.

A child may not remember everything that you've taught them, but they will remember how you made them feel.
