Neighborhood Program

    • Susitna Elementary School is a diverse learning community committed to the success of all learners as they become knowledgeable, responsible, and caring citizens." Susitna offers two educational programs: a traditional neighborhood program and an Open Optional program.  We have K-5 neighborhood classrooms, six Open Optional multi-age classrooms.
    • All students benefit from having a full-time nurse, and the offering of art, music, physical education, library, and technology. Special education, English Language Learner (ELL), IGNITE (gifted), and Speech/Language services are provided on-site, and facilitated through in-class, small group, and individualized instruction, as needed. We endeavor to provide a strong Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) foundation.
    • We encourage parent involvement and have several active business partnerships, including Subway Alaska and Carr's Safeway. Our school serves as a community center for after-school programs, including JEC.
