Mike Luttrell

Class of 1971

While at Western Hills, Mike participated in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track. Mike was named a three-time all-district selection at 3rd base, and was also an all-district wide receiver.  He was named an All-State Running Back in 1969 and 1970. He was also recognized as a 1970 Sunkist Growers top 11 HS All-American.  

Mike went on to play football and baseball at TCU, where he was named Southwest Conference Freshman Offensive Player of the Year in 1971, leading all SWC Freshmen in rushing. Luttrell led the frogs in rushing, scoring and total offense while setting records for scoring (42) and touchdowns in a single game (4). Luttrell also led the 1972 and 73 Frogs in rushing and total offense. He was voted All-SWC in 72 and 73 as well as Honorable Mention All-America both years. Luttrell was the first sophomore to win the Dan Rogers MVP Award, which honors the Horned Frogs' team MVP for that season. Luttrell co-captained the 74 team and again led all Frogs in rushing and receiving. In 1974, Luttrell set a TCU record for carries in a game (40) which stood until 1999, when LaDainian Tomlinson broke that mark. Luttrell also lettered in baseball in 72 and 73 and was a member of the 72 SWC Championship Team.

Mike was inducted into the TCU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.

Auburn University

Alan Lake

Class of 1988

Alan was a stand-out swimmer during his time at Western Hills. He set and still holds several WHHS swim records. Alan was second in state in 1988 in both the 100 yard butterfly and 200 yard freestyle, earning All American honors in both events. Alan swam collegiately at Auburn University, earning All American honors and was named an SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1993. Alan swam the 100 meter butterfly at the 1992 and 1996 US Olympic Trials. 

Alan is currently a Lieutenant with the Fort Worth Fire Department, serving as a firefighter and member of the dive team.

Terry Pierce

Class of 1999

While at Western Hills, Terry played football and participated in track and field. Terry won the state championship in Shot put and Discus in 1999 and was a standout football player for the Cougars.

Terry went on to play football for and won many accolades, including Big12 Freshman of the Year and Academic All-Big 12 honors. Terry then went on to play for the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans in the NFL.

Jordan Neuman

Class of 2001

Jordan played football and baseball during his time at Western Hills. Jordan was an All-district MVP and ALL-Region football player, ALL-STATE baseball player, and a member of the 2001 State Championship baseball team. During high school, Jordan set every major school passing record, finished his senior season as one of the top ranked passers in the State of Texas, and was voted the city's Most Valuable Player. 

Jordan went on to play college football at McMurry University, where he ranks fourth in program history for career passing yards (4,245) and career total offense (4,702) as a quarterback. 

After graduating from McMurry in 2005, he took his talents across the pond to play quarterback for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns in Germany. He retired from playing after the 2008 season and began his coaching career. 

In 2017, Neuman's first season as head coach, the Unicorns finished with a perfect 17-0 record and won German Bowl XXXIX – Germany's version of the Super Bowl.

Neuman has made a home in Europe as a player and coach since 2005, winning two German Bowl championships, two Austrian championships with the Vienna Vikings and a Eurobowl title in 2013. He also coached quarterbacks for Team Germany in 2014 when it won the European title over Austria.

He currently has a 50-1 record as a head coach and was named the .

Heather Hutyra

Class of 2004 

While at Western Hills, Heather participated in soccer and cross country.   Heather was a varsity soccer player all four years of high school, was captain during her junior and senior year, and was First Team All-District and first team All-Area.

Heather went on to play soccer at the University of North Texas, where she took the North Texas soccer team to new heights during her time as one of the most decorated players in school history.

She finished her career as a three-time first-team all-conference selection. She was the 2004 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and helped lead North Texas to the NCAA Tournament and Sun Belt Conference Tournament title for the first time in school history, and set a single season freshman record with 83 shots, six goals and 17 points.

In 2005, Hutyra powered the Mean Green back to the NCAA Tournament for a second-straight season and was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and first-team all-conference. She scored 20 goals that season and notched 47 points and was named the Sun Belt Conference Tournament MVP and to the All-Central Region team.

In 2006, she was named first-team all-conference for a third-straight season and to the all-region third-team with 13 goals and 31 points for the season.

In 2007, Hutyra tied for the team lead with 12 goals and was second with 32 points. She finished her career tied for second with 51 goals, third with 25 assists and second with 127 points,  where she won many accolades, including Conference Freshman of the Year and Conference Player of the Year.  

She was inducted into the  in 2013.

Emily Fisher

Class of 2016

Emily was a four-year varsity starter for the lady cougar soccer team. She served as a team captain for three of those years. Emily was a four-time, first-team, All-District selection and District Offensive MVP while being honored as an Academic All-State.  

Emily went on to play for where she earned conference defensive player, honorable mention all-conference, and four-time academic all-conference. Emily served as a team captain for the War Hawks her senior year.

She now works for Eide Bailly and coaches club soccer for the Sting soccer club.

Angelica Navarro

Class of 2017

While at Western Hills, Angelica was a standout soccer player for the lady cougars. Angelica was a District Offensive MVP, Team MVP, First team All-district selection, Academic All-State, and a Star-Telegram player of the year.

Angelica went on to play soccer at where she was an All-American during her freshman year and was also an All-Conference soccer player.

Angelica taught and coached at ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Poly High School in 2021-2022,  and moved to Western Hills High School to continue her career in 2022.
