Meet the Sunrise School Librarian Media Specialist

Hello All,

My name is Dr. Barbara Dowell. I am a product of  the awesome G.B. Trimble Technical High School, right here in Fort Worth, Texas. This year marks my 3rd year at Sunrise McMillian Elementary School as the teacher-librarian. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sibling, educator, librarian, and friend. I love animals, but do not have one at this time.

I attended Prairie View A& M University for my Bachelor's Degree in History/ Social Studies, Texas Woman's University for my Master's in Library Science, and my Doctoral Degree is from Walden University in Adult Education.

I believe that the library is the heartbeat of the school and that something exciting is always happening there! I love helping to create readers and seekers of knowledge, so never hesitate to ask me for help! The school library is the place to be for not only reading, but a place to find yourself and see yourself.
