Crystal Aguero Swear-In to USAFRES

Crystal is now one of the newest members of the USAF Reserves.   After school yesterday I had the honor of rendering the enlistment oath to her into the greatest air force in the world.  She will soon head off to USAF basic training in San Antonio and then on to Eglin AFB in Florida to learn how to maintain the integrated avionics instrumentation in two of the most advanced jet fighters in the world, the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning II, both of which are built in close proximity to WHHS at Lockheed Martin Fort Worth.

Crystal specifically requested to be sworn into the USAF on the flight line (or ramp area) close to the jets and the unit she will inevitably support as she defends our country.  As her former JROTC instructors, it is one of the most rewarding experiences when MSgt Ayala and I get the chance to see our past students…cadets… moving on like this.   Crystal has been in college and intends to complete her degree after meeting her training requirement in the AFRES and upon being returned to Fort Worth to serve with the 301st Fighter Wing next door at the Fort Worth JRB when they convert to F-35 fighters in the next couple of years.

In addition to MSgt Ayala, Crystal is pictured with her recruiter from the United States Air Force Reserves, TSgt Gomez, in the final picture.  Her father, mother and a couple of close college friends were also in attendance.   Another awesome product of WHHS…and the ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Air Force JROTC program!
